The 2005-2006 year was an educational year for Virginia Tech Design Build Fly. We designed an aircraft capable of completing the different missions which included carrying 48 tennis balls or 2 2-liter bottles of water or a 4″ x 4″ x 24″ block of wood. At competition we ran into technical problems which resulted in a crash. Working fast and hard the team was able to rebuild in time to take off the next day. Unfortunately a different problem resulted in another crash. Thanks to our high report score we scored 27th place out of 49 teams.
